Sweet Summertime!

To most of the world it's beginning of baseball season, spring cleaning time, and crunch time for seniors. To the mobapian world it is sweet summertime. You heard it right, folks, those of us who are students or employees at the good ole MBU have already started our summer vacation. Sweet gig, I know. However, on those days that I do report to the office I miss moments like this:
Susie and I paraffin waxing our hands in the training room.
Amanda doing her rehab

These days work consists of fighting off consistently ridiculous comments from my officemates while also trying to find four more girls interested in playing lacrosse at MBU while simultaneously holding in any bathroom needs seeing as they have turned off the water in my building and all adjacent buildings for that matter. It's a pretty crazy life I live. Tomorrow I will opt for breakfast with a friend, a signing, and perhaps a run. Yep, sweet summertime!

Go! St. Louis

Sunday was the St. Louis Half Marathon. This was either my 7th or 8th half marathon, five of which were St. Louis. I actually started training for this race by fluke, but it has been SO good for me. My birthday is coming up in May and all I want are donations to my goal for my 26 th year. 26.2 miles completed in the New York City marathon November 1st. I need to raise $2,500 to compete in that race. I guess the fundraising will start soon. Anyway, here are my results. I was very happy with what i was able to pull off this weekend. Thanks, Kelli, for motivating me to start running again.

It's the little things...

If you know me at all you know I don't often brag about my college experience. The university wasn't exactly where I wanted to be and the town left, for me, a lot to be desired. Although I don't long to go back and visit old Cape G, there are a few gems that remain there, and every time I spend even an hour with them I feel incredibly blessed. The picture below was taken in early February. Leslie (left) had sweet JD on January 29th. Leslie, Rach and I were college roommates at the 123 Henderson. Great times were had by all during that glorious year.

In this picture sweet JD is a few days old
Rachel wouldn't hand over the baby so we could completely remake that early picture. Please notice how amazing Leslie looks and how big JD is at just under three months.
Such a sweet little guy
Love it!
He was really fighting to stay awake and play scrabble.

I returned this am from my wonderful day in Cape. I had dinner with Rach, Leslie, and L's Daniel on Thursday night. Friday I had lunch with Lindsey Jo. She was a young life kid we spent a lot of time with during her sophomore-senior year of high school. She is now a sophomore in college... and stinkin awesome. Friday afternoon I went hiking with Rachel and R's Daniel at Trail of Tears. Friday night I hung out with Leslie and L's Daniel making dinner and playing scrabble. It was seriously the biggest blessing ever. I love those girls, I love sweet JD, and I always forget what a breath of fresh air it is to spend time with them. Hopefully I make it back sooner rather than later.

I swear she wasn't scared

Right before Easter I spent the day with my sister and sweet baby niece, Claire. We took Claire to the mall and decided we would attempt a cute First Easter picture with the Easter bunny. After  a bit of shopping we took Claire to the family changing room to get her in her cute Easter outfit. Many a laughs were had as Kara and I struggled to change Claire in the small chair provided. Never a dull moment.
Notice her little hair sticking up. So cute
Her eyes just keep getting more blue

Never have I ever seen a cuter baby with the Easter Bunny. I asked the photographer if she wanted to keep it for a sample. I think she must have just been embarrassed to say, "Yes".

SPENSA Service Project

Oh my goodness, my sabbatical has nearly killed me. Let me be very clear: my lack of blogging was not by choice. The ole macbook was completely filled with video, photo, and audio. After many a hours (and almost tears) at the apple store it is restored. I doubted the little cult known as the apple store and, more specifically, the genius bar for quite some time. However, they have proven themselves in this. So, one week and many computer hours later, here are the pictures from my team brunch at my parents, and the service project we did with the Special Needs Soccer Association.

1.2.3... find the coach
working with a player
oh my goodness was he cute
Lauren and Kayla with "their boy"
cheering Alex to the goal

This was an absolutely incredible day for our team. The service project was moving, educational, fun, and inspiring. Seriously, I loved it. After the service project we enjoyed a delicious brunch at my mom and dad's house. To finish an amazing day we won, not one, but two games. This was probably one of my favorite days of the season.

Just some more Rau Family Fun

The mac book has NOT been doing it's job, and to be perfectly honest, I can't do anything about it unless I head up to that little cult inside the Apple Store and let those guys at the genius bar take a look. I am pretty sure they love to show how much they know. That explains my lack of updates. I stole these pictures from my sis, and good pics they are. We had a family evening at the Adult Easter Egg hunt. I think I am a bit too competitive for recreational activities such as Easter Egg Hunts. I also have a hard time following the rules. AND all I won was a stinkin Extra Value Meal from McDonalds, even though I did have a golden egg. They said those golden eggs meant something. I'll just wait for my personal phone call. Anyway, enjoy the pics.

The Girls- My mom and sisters.
That mom of mine certainly does blend in with some girls half her age.
head lamps.... nbd

I should probably also note that adult easter egg hunt means byob easter egg hunt. We weren't aware/probably wouldn't have been doing JELLO SHOTS anyway. I mean really people. This family did things our own way. No alcohol, no crazy shananigans. Just some good ole wholesome fun with headlamps, easter bags, and maybe a dozen or so extra eggs. What was the limit again? ... eight, no seventeen.
