PurpleStride Pancreatic Cancer Walk

When the doctors found dad's tumor I immediately became interested in learning more about Pancreatic Cancer. Through my research I learned what an absolutely horrible disease it is. As I have talked to people who have known someone with this disease it has been confirmed that it is truly an awful diagnoses. My brother, TJ, and I became interested in doing PurpleStride, the national pancreatic cancer walk that raises money for the Pancreatic Action Awareness Network. The goal is to find means of early detection and help improve the death rate from this horrible disease. As we started talking about participating in the walk the rest of the family became interested. A lot of us were able to participate this year, but next year we are looking to create a team and make a real impact. TJ was able to raise over $1,000 in just a few days so we think we can raise over $5,000 as a family. We are desperate for a cure to this horrible disease and hope that we can help to ensure that fewer families have to go through what we did. Enjoy the pictures from our beautiful fall morning in Forest Park and start getting excited to participate with us next year!
